SEC Seeks Public Comment on Earnings Releases and Quarterly Reports

The Securities and Exchange Commission is accepting public views on the quarterly reporting process for U.S. public companies. The comment solicitation is designed to elicit views on how the burdens of quarterly reporting can be reduced while maintaining or enhancing investor protection. The SEC is also interested in hearing from public companies and market participants on whether the current quarterly reporting regime encourages short-termism.
